Supercharged Puppies - online Power Up Pup course
This class is designed to be like booting up your new device (smartphone, tablet etc) for the first time. There are lots of questions in getting started; this class helps to get it right the first time round.
Catered for baby puppies aged between 8 and 20 weeks of age.
Four week ONLINE program.
5 Modules
Before you get started!
This module must be filled out before you can start your online class with us. It will allow us to get some information about you and your dog to help us help you better!
Week 1 - Getting to know the basics
This week is getting you and your puppy started on the right paw.
Our focus for this week will be:
- Learning what your puppy's favourite reward is
- Learning a bridge word & following a lure
- Teaching your puppy the value of their name
- Socialisation to different surfaces
- Learning about a collar hold and relaxed compliance
- Beginning training with a stand exercise
- Taking a look at adding a release cue
Week 2 - Charging up the Device!
Our focus for this week will be:
- Introducing a release word into your puppy's training
- Teaching your puppy to enjoy being handled and touched
- Beginning training with the sit exercise
- Teaching your puppy manners at dinner time
- Socialisation to different sounds
- Learning to be alone - independence training
- Teaching you and your puppy how to play together
Week 3 - Installing software
This week's training is looking at 'installing the software' and making some behaviours happen automatically.
Our focus for this week will be:
- Beginning training with the drop exercise
- Introducing the chin rest exercise
- Socialisation to different people & animals
- Adding duration to sit and stand
- Learning to walk on the leash
- Teaching your puppy manners at doorways and to stay on their mat
Week 4 - Testing the device
This is the last lot of notes and videos for the course. We're looking at 'testing the device' and making sure the manners are coming along, trained behaviours are being established and your puppy can cope with more touch and manipulation.
Our focus for this week will be:
- Becoming more familiar with the processes of a vet visit
- Coping with grooming
- Socialisation to things that move
- Combining the essentials
- Training - the next step
